What is this?
A forum for people who enjoy, play, think about, write, and play games - particularly table-top games - to connect with each other, organize events, discuss games, and see what other like-minded folks have to say.
Why not just use <insert site name>
's servers/groups/subs?
Nothing here can or will stop you from doing just that. I have active accounts on many of the sites and apps you’re probably thinking of. Here’s what I run into, and I’m sure you do to: someone doesn’t like Site A, is concerned about Site B’s practices, left Site C for their own mental health… and so it goes.
Right here, this site, no advertisements, no trackers, no paid subscriptions, no pressure to buy anything - and that’s exactly how I want it: just a place to talk about something we share an appreciation for.
No ads? How does it make any money?
No ads, and it doesn’t. That’s not the point. There’s a toxic pressure in our culture to monetize our hobbies and this is me defying that trend. Other people can hitch their livelihood to their personal passion, I’ll support them and cheerlead them all day long but that path isn’t for me.
Isn’t this expensive? How is it paid for?
That’s two questions, but fine. The biggest expense right now is the electricity to run the host server. I’m running that server anyway, so I might as well get as much use from it as possible.
Is it safe to put my personal information in here?
I strongly discourage everyone from sharing information that could expose them to danger so, please don’t do that!
