Say hello to Jella!

Jella Morgutel is a forest gnome Fighter (Arcane Archer)

She’s the first female character that I’ll be playing, and I think she’s going to be very different from my other staple characters

There are still a few finishing touches to make, but overall I’m pretty pleased with how her mini turned out

I’m thinking of doing a dark brown wash over her skin to get the musculature popping off the model

I especially like the little mushrooms and moss. And can’t wait to see marynka!

Well, speak of the devil

I would try a light brown wash to start. You’d be surprised how much depth you can get (even a green tone - I have if you need) Some of the darker washes really alter the tone.

My phone camera really screwed with the color tone here, heavy green-shift

I ended up doing some detail-brush work with burnt umber wash (cut way thin with Liquitex thinner medium) to outline the bulges on the model - worked a treat

Then I gave her an all-over satin varnish and I am pleased

Was about post these guys for reference.

Nvm. Mb too large

oh, how big are they?

(it’s running on my hardware, I get to make rules!)

Jjust bumped it up to 8MB (from 4) can go higher if needed

I went the other way and compressed them. Limited knowledge on photo manipulation on iPhones…

Oh that’s a marked difference!

I got this dirt-cheap (but shockingly decent) lighted headband magnifier and can suddenly do a ton of tiny detail work

Color work is still one I’m figuring out

Everything except for the final wash is exactly the same with these 2. The left is a dark wash from army painter. Right is either light or skin tone from them also
