A Fey at the Races (WBW-DC-ZODIAC-07)

You donned your derby-day finery and joined one of Samsara’s most ancient and anticipated events, The Archfey of the Horse’s dressage competition. You stepped in to replace the mounts’ missing jockeys, possibly befriending and bonding with your contestant-partner in the process. The competition was close, with Lady Henka and Mooncolor clenching the win and receiving the vaunted Samsara Cup.
Celebrations were cut short when the fairgrounds were suddenly attacked by an army of fiends and flying rocking horses. You quickly dealt with several of the infernal invaders while Qilin, the Archfey of the Horse, dispatched the bulk of their force. Ash, the stable-master, magicked the mounts to the presumed safety of the stables, not knowing the fiends struck there in hopes of capturing and transforming Qilin’s son Rider into a nightmare.
You defeated the narzugon Khan, banishing him back to the Nine Hells and foiling his plan to transform and abduct Rider. You interrupted the ritual and preserved Rider’s identity, nevertheless he has seemed changed by the ideal in the weeks that followed. His arrogance and entitlement have ebbed away, replaced by gentleness and generosity of spirit. The hard work of caring for so many injured, displaced, and dispossessed fey seems to have done Rider well; the pride he wears now comes from long days of hard work alongside his neighbors.
Qilin is glad of the change in his son, and he shares with you his concerns that the Nightmare King and Swift Shadow Syndicate have allied with powers in the Hells to bring devils into Samsara.

Story Rewards
Pact of the Rider - You gain a monochromatic (player choice of color and location) tattoo of either a nightmare or a pegasus, blessed by Rider, the Phantom Steed. You can spend 5 downtime days to gain temporary flight and resistance to fire damage for ten minutes. The feature can only be used once per adventure. Each time this feature is used, you must spend a further five downtime days.
Mask of the Zodiacs
Wearers of the mask gain a level of respect from denizens of the domain of Samsara. Characters with this title may gain advantage on any roll while in Samsara once per adventure (session). The thirteen archfey of Samsara look more favorably on those with this story award.
When blessed by their corresponding archfey, the mask grants its wearer the ability to Wild Shape into that animal once per day.
